            <title>Catedral Basílica &quot;Santuario de la Virgen de San Juan de los Lagos&quot;</title>

            <description><![CDATA[Data del siglo XVIII, su fachada es de cantera rosa con dos esbeltas torres barrocas de tres cuerpos y remate, en los cuales se observan pares de columnas toscanas y cornisas movidas; así como relieves geométricos y antropomorfos. 
<br><br>
En el interior se aprecian ventanas con vitral, pinturas en las pechinas de la cúpula; el retablo principal es de cantera, estilo neoclásico, con ciprés al centro, que aloja la imagen de la Virgen de San Juan de los Lagos; en la sacristía hay pinturas al óleo y muebles de madera tallada y con incrustaciones. Todo el interior posee rica decoración dorada en los capiteles, pilastras, ciprés y demás elementos ornamentales. 
<br><br>
La Capilla del Primer Milagro, data del siglo XVII; muestra fachada sobria de cantera con torre de un cuerpo que tiene columnas corintias y decoración de relieves vegetales. La portada es de un cuerpo con arco de medio punto; la ventana coral esta enmarcada en cantera, y arriba, hay nichos con escultura. Anexo a la capilla se encuentra la fachada, sobria también, del ex- hospital, con portada de dintel y clave en relieve. El interior de la capilla es de una nave, techo plano y retablo barroco, en cantera blanca, con columnas salomónicas que sostienen entablamento con frontón semicircular; la decoración es sobria, con esculturas de santos en los muros. 
<br><br>
El Templo del Calvario, data del siglo XVII, construido en cantera rosa, Parece un templo griego, por sus escalinatas, arcos y columnas frontales, su frontis en ángulo y sobre el cornisamiento, las esculturas de desproporcionada grandeza de los doce apóstoles. 
<br><br>
Otras construcciones de carácter religioso que destacan son las siguientes: la Parroquia de San Juan Bautista construida en piedra hacia 1648; el Templo de la Sagrada Familia construido en 1841 de estilo neoclásico; y la Parroquia de la Sangre de Cristo construida a instancias del Pbro. D. J. Trinidad Romo a principios del siglo XIX. 
<br><br>
En cuanto a arquitectura de tipo civil destacan: la "Escuela Rita Pérez" el inmueble es de estilo neocolonial iniciada en 1769 y terminado en 1775, fue casa de juego, casa de hospedaje, cuartel, y desde 1949, escuela por autorización del presidente municipal Pablo Esqueda Campos. 
<br><br>
El Palacio Municipal, recia construcción de piedra cubierta de cantera iniciada a fines del siglo XVIII por el padre José Manuel Flores, siendo casa habitación, seminario, casa de hacienda y palacio municipal desde 1938, cuando era presidente municipal Rafael Pérez de León. 
<br><br>
La Antigua Casa Episcopal reedificada en los albores del siglo XIX, que actualmente ocupan las oficinas de Correos, de Telégrafos y la Subalterna Federal de Hacienda. 
<br><br>
La Plaza de Armas o Plaza Cívica Rita Pérez de Moreno, ubicada en el centro de san Juan, fue hecha por el señor Roque Picaso, siendo presidente municipal el señor Rafael Pérez de León. Teniendo modificaciones realizadas por el Ing. Salvador Gómez, a partir de ahí fue llamada Plaza Cívica Rita Pérez de Moreno. Esta plaza fue construida en el siglo XVIII, por Cédula Real.]]></description>

Símbolo de la capital queretana, esta monumental obra hidráulica se debe al que fuera benefactor de la ciudad, don Juan Antonio de Urrutia y Arana, marqués de la Villa del Villar del Águila, que lo mandó construir entre 1726 y 1735 para satisfacer una petición de las monjas capuchinas y de paso llevar agua hasta la ciudad. La magna obra es una de las más grandes del país: consta de 74 arcos que alcanzan una altura promedio de 23 m y una longitud de 1 280 m.]]></description>

The information related to the United States will be mostly found in spanish, why is that? Well, we know for a fact that border tourism (mexicans traveling to border US cities in the states of California, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas) is big and to make that traveling more appealing we will be featuring information about the most popular shopping venues  plus the best cities can offer from dinning to theme parks. For our Mexico section we will be covering the whole country and the information will range from lodging, eating, shopping and every bit of information you would want to have in advance for your trip to Mexico.
